On Saturday 27 January 2024, the launch of the YWGSAA UK-London Chapter was held at the Bright Courtyard Club London.  The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Mr Francis Kwan and Vice Principal Ms Chow Siu Fung (1982), who travelled all the way from Hong Kong, alongside our former school supervisor Rev Wu Ping Kit and several former teachers who are residing in the UK.

The festivities commenced with an inspiring sharing by Cheung Siu Ping (1980), the chairperson of the YWGSAA UK-London Chapter, setting the tone for the afternoon.  Mr Kwan and Ms Chow shared their thoughts and experiences, creating a bridge between the school’s past and present.  The Alumnae Association in Hong Kong had prepared a heart-warming video, extending congratulations on the launch.

Rev Wu led a touching prayer, evoking the cherished memories of school days.  The committee members of the YWGSAA UK-London Chapter led everyone in singing the school song which rekindled a sense of familiarity and nostalgia.  Each committee member (click here for an article containing the full list) took the opportunity to introduce herself, fostering connections among attendees from different ages and backgrounds.

The event concluded on a high note with exciting lucky draws, featuring school souvenirs generously donated by Mr Kwan and Ms Chow.  Overall, this event was a testament to the enduring spirit of Ying Wa Girls’ School, where friendships and bonds persist, and its ethos lives on in the hearts of its alumnae.
