Avvy Go’s Judicial Appointment

The Toronto Chapter has some fantastic news to share with you:

On August 6, 2021, Avvy Yao-Yao Go  吳瑶瑶 ('80), Clinic Director at the Metro Toronto Chinese and Southeast Asian Legal Clinic in Toronto, was appointed a Judge of the Federal Court.  She is the first Chinese Canadian Federal Court Judge.

Avvy was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1991.  She is known for her work advocating on behalf of immigrant and racialized communities in Canada.  In 2014, she was appointed to the Order of Ontario.

Congratulations, Avvy!  We are very proud of you!
