Memorial Service in Honour of Rev. Lee Ching Chee
On July 6, a memorial service in honour of Rev. Lee Ching Chee (李清詞牧師) was held at Ying Wa. Having embarked on her spiritual journey at Ying Wa, Rev. Lee was a pioneering advocate for women’s ordination in Hong Kong. She was the first woman pastor ordained by the Hong Kong Council of the Church of Christ in China in 1966. During the service, guests paid tribute to Rev. Lee as a guiding light for the Christian faith, whose unwavering faith and courage inspired many pastors. Her emphasis on serving God’s will with dedication highlighted the essence of true ministry, both in preaching and in the stewardship of Christian education. Many reflected on how her legacy continues to inspire people to pursue ministry with love, humility, and a commitment to nurturing faith in others.
Rev. Lee’s profound contributions have left an enduring impact on Ying Wa and beyond, shaping generations with her visionary leadership and compassionate spirit.
